  • Ontario Bill 148 Amendments re Equal Pay Coming into Force

    Last year, Ontario passed Bill 148, Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017. The Bill included amendments to Part XII of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 requiring equal pay for equal work regardless of employment status (i.e., between casual, part-time, temporary and seasonal workers, and full-time or permanent workers). The work, skill, effort and responsibility must be "substantially the same", but not identical.

  • Ontario Bill 148 Amendments Coming into Force January 1, 2018
