Regulation 51/2018 amends AR 62/2003: Occupational Health and Safety Regulation under the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). These amendments are a part of the new occupational health and safety regime (per my earlier post) which comes into force on June 1, 2018.
Last year, Alberta passed Bill 30, An Act to Protect the Health and Well-being of Working Albertans. Bill 30 enacted a new Occupational Health & Safety Act, 2017 (New OHSA) and made a number of amendments to the Alberta Workers Compensation Act (WCA). The New OHSA and amendments to the WCA are coming into force throughout 2018 (as indicated below).
Last year, Alberta passed Bill 29, An Act to Reduce Cannabis and Alcohol Impaired Driving. Effective April 9, 2018, ss. 1-16 of Bill 29, including amendments providing for:
- a prohibition of drug-impaired driving; and
- an immediate 90-day licence suspension for impaired drivers, followed . . .
Regulation 21/2018 is a new regulation regarding medical panels, which was filed under the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Act. The Regulation includes provisions related to: selecting medical panel members, procedures to be followed by medical panels and preparation of reports.
